Role Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day planning and control of production activities at Sunrise Farms.
The role manages yields, equipment, sanitation, staffing, supplies, schedules, and machine start-up to meet production demand and customer service levels.
The supervisor must maintain quality, food safety, health, safety, and legislative compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review processing schedules and production orders to determine inventory, staffing, and duty assignments within budget and time constraints.
- Prepare production reports, orders, projections, personnel records, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with plant, production, dispatch, procurement, supplier, and other department managers.
- Compile and review daily production orders for cut-up and tray-pack areas and enter them into the system promptly.
- Develop, direct, train, motivate, coach, assess, and discipline employees with the Human Resources department.
- Provide input on food safety procedures, product quality, and Quality Assurance matters.
- Onboard new employees, assess performance, and confirm qualifications for job duties.
- Adjust production levels and staffing across product lines and cross-train employees for flexibility.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective measures and improved work methods.
