Role Overview

The Packaging Production Mechanic reports to the Operations Manager.

The role supports pharmaceutical manufacturing operations at the packaging production facility.

The mechanic sets up, modifies, operates, troubleshoots, and repairs several types of machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain and optimize machinery through component fabrication and equipment testing.
  • Identify equipment irregularities and root causes, then implement preventative and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and document scheduled preventive maintenance using condition monitoring tools.
  • Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and calibration.
  • Complete maintenance logs, testing records, compliance documentation, and parts spreadsheets.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components such as motors, gears, and belts.
  • Assist with production job setup, machine adjustments, operator training, and continuous improvement.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma is required.
  • Post-secondary education with millwright certification is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of progressive production-environment experience is required.
  • Packaging-environment experience is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Understanding of GMPs and SOPs is required.
  • Availability to work all shifts is required.

Compensation

  • Starting compensation is $25.93 per hour.

Schedule

  • The schedule is Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
