Overview
- Set an ambitious and clear product vision and communicate it effectively to stakeholders, the team, and the rest of the unit.
- Manage end-to-end team output strategy from inception to production.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure digital vision and products align with team strategy and requirements.
- Take accountability for product-specific KPIs once a solution enters production and communicate regular tracking to stakeholders.
- Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain a product backlog that is 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team.
- Deliver multiple, concurrent projects and business area backlog items, taking responsibility for all business change elements.
- Lead and coordinate change activity, working with lead translators and program managers to maintain a strategic delivery roadmap.
- Manage projects of varying scale from idea through to delivery and closure, adopting proportionate governance.
- Maintain momentum and direction, delivering to the agreed scope, timeframe, and budget.
- Treat resource planning and accurate estimation as fundamental principles.
- Practice a progressive stakeholder management approach, building invested relationships and employing engagement plans.
- Actively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Plan and coordinate work with internal departments to ensure resource requirements are understood and available.
- Direct the activities of third-party providers (vendors, consultants, etc.), ensuring delivery to time, quality, and budget.
- Report progress to Lead Translators and senior business members through monthly reporting or equivalent channels.
- Facilitate release planning with stakeholders as well as weekly demos.
- Serve as a key role on Agile teams, working onsite with the team on a daily basis.
- Integrate usability studies and research into requirements to enhance user satisfaction and customer-driven design.
- Align outward-facing product requirements and stakeholders.

- The role operates within broadly defined policies, standards, and objectives.
- The determination of “what needs to be done” is largely left to the incumbent, who must establish the plan, determine priorities, and prescribe the processes needed to achieve objectives.
- Operational Direction:
- Subject to general direction and broadly defined functional policy objectives.
- However, actions that impact other functional or operating areas usually require approval before they may be implemented.
