Role Overview

  • Air Canada seeks a highly motivated, detail orientated product owner to join the Air Canada IT team. As a Product Owner within the Corporate Products team, you will promote agile ways of working and continuous improvement across product and business teams.
  • The Product Owner acts as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the product backlog, ensuring features and improvements are clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with business goals.
  • Translate business processes and operational workflows into actionable user stories and clear acceptance criteria for development teams.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for digital solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate product direction, and refine solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning to ensure efficient product delivery.
  • Ensure product features are delivered with clearly defined requirements, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Support the rollout of new tools, processes, and product features by working with business teams to drive adoption and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with other IT product teams and business units to manage cross team dependencies and ensure solutions integrate effectively within Air Canada's technology ecosystem.
  • Create Business requirements documents and formalize business cases for IT intake.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or digital product delivery.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
  • Experience working with Agile development teams and managing product backlogs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience working with complex stakeholder environments and balancing competing priorities across multiple business groups.
  • Experience working with internal enterprise tools or operational systems is an asset.
  • Airline or travel industry experience (Commercial, Loyalty, Operations, Cargo, Call Center) is considered a plus.
