Role Overview
The Procurement QC Engineer will oversee quality for procured civil and architectural materials used on industrial building projects.
The role covers procurement quality activities from material submittals and vendor documentation through inspection, testing, certification, delivery, storage, and preservation.
The position must ensure materials meet project specifications, applicable codes, QA/QC procedures, approved ITPs, and ADNOC requirements.
Project and Workplace
- The project concerns industrial buildings.
- The stated project location is Al Ruwais, initially Musaffah.
- The employment type is full-time and the work location is in person.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure procured civil and architectural materials comply with project specifications, quality standards, applicable codes, QA/QC procedures, and approved ITPs.
- Oversee procurement quality activities from material submittals and vendor documentation through inspection, testing, certification, delivery, storage, and preservation.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Engineering, Vendors, Inspection, and Project QA/QC teams.
- Ensure materials meet project and ADNOC requirements.
- Review technical and quality documentation and identify non-compliance.
- Conduct or coordinate vendor and source inspections.
- Manage material certification, traceability, inspection reports, MTCs, test certificates, and related documentation.
- Support material testing, compliance verification, storage, and preservation activities.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, consultants, contractors, and client QA/QC teams.
- Prepare quality reporting and support quality auditing and NCR management.
Core Qualifying Criteria
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 10 years of QA/QC experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, industrial, or major building projects.
- Strong experience in procurement quality control and vendor inspection.
- Proven experience with civil and architectural materials and their inspection and testing requirements.
- Good understanding of material specifications, certificates, testing, traceability, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.
- Familiarity with ADNOC requirements, standards, specifications, and project quality procedures.
- Experience working with EPC contractors, vendors, suppliers, consultants, and client QA/QC teams.
- Strong knowledge of ITPs, material submittals, NCRs, inspection reports, MTCs, test certificates, and vendor documentation.
- Ability to review technical and quality documentation and identify non-compliance.
- Strong coordination, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience on ADNOC projects in Abu Dhabi or the UAE is preferred.
- Experience in Ruwais industrial projects, refineries, petrochemical facilities, or other Oil & Gas developments is preferred.
- Experience covering both building or civil and architectural materials is preferred.
- Experience conducting or coordinating vendor or source inspections is preferred.
- Knowledge of ASTM, BS, EN, ISO, and relevant project-specific standards is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CSWIP, AWS, NACE/AMPP, ISO 9001, or other recognized QA/QC certifications are preferred where applicable.
