Role overview
The role manages local purchasing and import operations from start to finish.
The position requires coordination, attention to detail, and knowledge of UAE import regulations.
Procurement and supplier management
- Manage local sourcing, purchase orders, and supplier follow-up.
- Negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms with local suppliers.
Import and regulatory operations
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, health certificates, and certificates of origin before shipment arrival.
- Handle product registration and approvals through Dubai Municipality systems, including FIRS and Montaji/ZDLM.
- Oversee customs clearance through Dubai Customs using Mirsal 2.
- Liaise with Dubai Municipality and MOCCAE on permits, inspections, and compliance.
Shipment and records management
- Coordinate shipment planning, documentation, and delivery schedules with freight forwarders.
- Track shipments end-to-end and proactively resolve operational or documentation issues.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, imports, and supplier performance.
