Purpose of the Role
Supervise and perform the contractual management and administration of Agreement Variation Proposals to ensure risks are minimized, processes are followed and best for FGJV outcomes are achieved.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Assess contractual entitlement and commercial implications of proposed variations.
- Ensure timely notification of potential variations in accordance with contract requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and document all client-initiated and project-driven changes that may impact contract scope, cost, schedule, quality, or risk.
- Support implementation of robust change control processes across the project.
- Monitor compliance with internal approval authorities and client change management procedures.
- Track the status, approval progress, and financial impact of all variations.
- Supervise maintenance of variation registers.
- Provide regular reporting to department head on variation approval status and potential roadblocks.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to facilitate efficient evaluation and approval
- Collaborate with all stakeholder teams to develop variation submissions.
- Assist in negotiate contract terms and conditions with client/subcontractors as authorised by senior management in liaison with procurement management, as per policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure all variation activities comply with contract provisions, project governance requirements, and company procedures.
- Assist in develop and directly develop, prepare, and submit variation proposals, business cases, and supporting commercial documentation.
- Assist in negotiation and negotiate variation pricing, terms, and conditions with Suppliers, Service Providers and Subcontractors.
- Working collaboratively with all stakeholders, providing support on relevant contract administration matters
- Ensuring compliance with policies, guidelines, and standards
- The above listed authorities and responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Business, Commerce, Engineering, Law etc) or equivalent relevant experience
- White Card
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card) - mandatory
Experience
Comprehensive experience and knowledge of the procurement processes, commercial management and governance requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in Contracts Administration working for a major international tier 1 construction contractor
Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable project works – preferred
Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
Experience in claims / variations
Experience of SAP Software
