About the Role
GCN is seeking a Process Safety Manager to provide direct process safety support to Group QHSE and work with Engineering, Operations, and country teams. The role acts as the technical authority for process safety governance, risk studies, assurance, training, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Own and improve Group process safety policies, work instructions, job aids, tools and minimum expectations
- Lead or peer review HAZOP, What If, LOPA, QRA, fault tree, consequence modelling, building siting, in plant risk and public risk studies
- Act as functional owner for selected process safety standards, tools and work processes
- Provide consultation on asset integrity, pressure systems, relief devices, safety critical equipment, alarm management and other critical barriers
- Lead or peer review SIL assessments, SIS analysis, safeguard effectiveness and related action plans
- Support and challenge MOC quality for plant, process, equipment, product, technology, organisation and operational changes
- Lead or support Pre startup Safety Reviews and operation readiness inspections for new plants, modified assets and restart of high risk operations
- Plan and support process safety audits, gap assessments and follow up reviews
- Develop and deliver process safety training for leaders, engineers, operations, maintenance and site teams
- Provide technical support for high potential process incidents, challenge root cause quality and ensure learning is translated into stronger controls
- Represent Gulf Cryo in process safety forums, industry associations and standards discussions where required
- Contribute to process safety metrics, leading indicators, critical action tracking and improvement programs
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of work experience in gas, petrochemical, chemical or related industries in process engineering or plant engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process safety as a primary role or major responsibility
- Current or former industrial gas experience in process engineering or plant engineering is strongly preferred, especially Air Separation and Steam Methane Reforming experience
- Operations or plant support experience is preferred
- External safety certification such as CCPSC, CFSP or similar is preferred
- Familiar with significant industry standards applicable to industrial gases and process safety, including CGA, EIGA, MEGA and relevant local regulations

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Own and improve Group process safety policies, work instructions, job aids, tools and minimum expectations. Align documents with corporate risk criteria, legal requirements and relevant industry practice.
- Lead or peer review HAZOP, What If, LOPA, QRA, fault tree, consequence modelling, building siting, in plant risk and public risk studies.
- Act as functional owner for selected process safety standards, tools and work processes. Lead changes to Group standards and promote common application across countries.
- Provide consultation on asset integrity, pressure systems, relief devices, safety critical equipment, alarm management and other critical barriers.
- Lead or peer review SIL assessments, SIS analysis, safeguard effectiveness and related action plans.
- Support and challenge MOC quality for plant, process, equipment, product, technology, organisation and operational changes.
- Lead or support Pre startup Safety Reviews and operation readiness inspections for new plants, modified assets and restart of high risk operations.
- Plan and support process safety audits, gap assessments and follow up reviews. Track action quality and verify closure evidence.
- Develop and deliver process safety training for leaders, engineers, operations, maintenance and site teams. Coach process safety focal points.

- Represent Gulf Cryo in process safety forums, industry associations and standards discussions where required. Act as the single point of contact for non engineering functions on process safety matters.
- Contribute to process safety metrics, leading indicators, critical action tracking and improvement programs.
Technical Scope
- Air Separation Units and cryogenic production systems
- CO2 recovery, purification, storage and distribution interfaces
- Hydrogen production, storage, filling and customer supply systems
- Package gases, filling operations and product changeover processes
- Gasification, rare gas separation and non core or new technologies
- Plant modifications, retrofit projects, acquisitions and customer engineering interfaces
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering. Minor or formal study in Process Safety is a plus. Advanced degree will be considered an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of work experience in gas, petrochemical, chemical or related industries in process engineering or plant engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process safety as a primary role or major responsibility.
- Current or former industrial gas experience in process engineering or plant engineering is strongly preferred, especially Air Separation and Steam Methane Reforming experience.
- Operations or plant support experience is preferred to ensure practical understanding of site realities.
- External safety certification such as, CCPSC, CFSP or similar is preferred.

- Hazard review leadership, including HAZOP, What If and checklist based reviews
- Qualitative risk analysis and risk ranking for process hazards
- Quantitative risk analysis, including LOPA, fault tree, consequence modelling, building siting, in plant risk and public risk
- Safety Instrumented System analysis and SIL assessment peer review
- Mechanical integrity consultation for pressure systems, rotating equipment, relief devices and safety critical equipment
- Process Safety Management system development and implementation
- Management of Change review and operational readiness inspection
- Process safety audit, compliance review and corrective action verification
- Training design and delivery for technical and non technical audiences
- Technical mentoring for engineering, process systems, operations and QHSE teams
- Strong experience in air separation engineering, CO2, hydrogen or similar high hazard process technologies
- Ability to translate complex studies into clear actions for country and site teams
