Process Safety Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to develop process safety capabilities and support the safe and effective operation of the plant
• Develop and implement a site strategy to move from Intolerable Risk to Broadly Acceptable Risk across all Process Safety Management (PSM) elements
• Implement process safety programs, tools, training and assessments aligned with Kerry's PSM framework
• Support complex operations by identifying and implementing process safety and reliability improvements
• Facilitate multidisciplinary teams in Management of Change (MoC), incident investigations, risk assessments, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) studies and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)
• Lead site HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) activities and drive completion of resulting actions
• Ensure Hazardous Area Classifications (HAC) are identified, maintained and compliant with Kerry standards
• Promote understanding and adoption of PSM processes across all levels of the site through communication and training
• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in hazardous areas
• Ensure all site projects comply with PSM requirements and safety standards
• Liaise with external regulators, including HSE and SEPA, and identify new technologies to reduce process safety risks
• Carry out additional duties and projects as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Team Leader.
