You’ll work alongside experienced process engineers and multidisciplinary specialists, developing your technical knowledge while contributing to projects that support essential water services across the UK. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Process Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of process engineering work across clean water and wastewater projects, developing your technical knowledge while working closely with experienced engineers and project teams. You will: + Support the development of process engineering solutions, including calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and treatment evaluations. + Prepare technical reports, specifications, calculations and other engineering deliverables. + Support process design from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction support. + Contribute to site investigations, asset assessments, treatment optimisation and technical studies. + Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and support project teams in understanding client requirements and developing practical engineering solutions. + Build your technical capability through mentoring, training and hands-on project experience, while contributing to innovation and continuous improvement. YOUR IMPACT Your work will contribute to the delivery of resilient and sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure across the UK. By supporting the development and optimisation of treatment processes and infrastructure, you’ll help clients respond to changing environmental requirements and deliver reliable services for communities. As a Process Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, learn from experienced specialists and progressively take on greater responsibility as you develop your technical and project delivery skills. ABOUT YOU Essential + Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline. + Experience or an interest in developing a career within process engineering and the water sector. + Understanding of process engineering principles and water or wastewater treatment. + Good analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams. + Good written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to manage your workload and meet agreed deadlines. + Enthusiasm to learn, develop and build your technical expertise. + Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards + Membership of a relevant professional institution such as CIWEM, IChemE, ICE or IMechE. + Previous experience within the water, wastewater, utilities or infrastructure sectors. + Experience with process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments or treatment evaluations. + Experience supporting technical reports, engineering studies or design development. + Experience of site investigations, testing, commissioning or asset optimisation. + Interest in digital innovation, sustainability and developing new approaches to process engineering. + We're proud of our friendly, inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and driven to succeed. + Named in the top 50 companies to work by Glassdoor 2025.
