Role Purpose
The Process Engineer – Fiber, Cable & Connectivity Solutions is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and scalable production of fiber, cable, and connectivity products. The role focuses on process standardization, yield improvement, defect reduction, and supporting new product introductions (NPI) while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Development & Optimization • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for: • Optical fiber, fiber optic cables, copper cables • Connectivity products such as connectors, patch cords, harnesses, and assemblies • Define process flow diagrams, work instructions, control plans, and SOPs. • Optimize processes to improve productivity, yield, and cost efficiency. • Establish and monitor critical process parameters and control limits.
- Quality & Compliance • Ensure processes meet product quality standards and customer specifications. • Drive defect reduction through root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and PFMEA. • Support audits and compliance to ISO, customer, and telecom standards. • Improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) and reduce scrap and rework.
- New Product & Process Introduction (NPI) • Support industrialization of new fiber, cable, or connectivity products. • Participate in equipment selection, tooling design, trials, and validation. • Lead pilot runs, process qualification, and ramp-up to mass production. • Ensure smooth transition from development to production.
