What is the opportunity?
Lead product strategy for AI evaluations and governance capabilities at RBC.
Connect assessment of AI system quality and safety with risk and compliance reporting for responsible enterprise AI deployment.
Serve as the accountable product leader for a capability area spanning engineering, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders.
Product strategy and roadmap
- Own the end-to-end product strategy and multi-year roadmap for evaluations and governance.
- Lead discovery, define requirements, and prioritize the portfolio against business risk, regulatory needs, and platform adoption.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy-versus-partner options for evaluation and governance tooling.
Delivery and stakeholder engagement
- Partner with engineering and architecture leadership on feasibility, sequencing, trade-offs, and delivery execution.
- Represent the capability area to risk, audit, compliance, architecture, governance, vendors, and senior leadership.
- Define launch value messaging, target personas, success metrics, and business-case inputs.
People leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead product managers focused on evaluations and governance.
- Help the team apply consistent discovery, prioritization, delivery, and data-backed decision-making practices.
Must-have qualifications
- 10 or more years of product management experience, including several years with risk, compliance, safety, or governance-oriented technology products or services.
- Experience delivering production AI or machine-learning systems in an enterprise environment, including LLM API integration and ownership of AI testing, evaluation, or monitoring.
- Experience in a regulated industry with direct exposure to audit and regulatory review processes.
- Technical foundation in system design, API integration patterns, data pipelines, and vector database or RAG architecture.
- Excellent communication skills for representing complex technical and risk-related agendas to executives and engineering teams.
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience leading and developing product managers or moving into a people-leadership role.
- Experience converting regulatory or audit requirements into automated processes or tooling.
- Experience with AI safety, model risk management, automated AI evaluation, observability, or monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with AI-specific financial-services regulatory and risk-management frameworks.
- Experience standing up a new function inside a scaling organization.
