Jobber is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Software Engineering team.
The role drives platform strategy, resolves cross-team technical problems, and shapes initiatives spanning engineering.
The initial priority area will likely be mobile, with influence across the broader engineering organization.
Team and product context
The Foundations group owns core technologies used across Jobber’s mobile app, web app, and design system.
Web and Mobile Platform teams own builds and releases, third-party SDKs, performance, observability, and stack migrations.
Recent work includes React web migration, mobile over-the-air updates, offline support, and the Amplify AI engineering platform.
Responsibilities
- Drive platform strategy and solve problems that no single team owns.
- Research emerging technologies, prototype approaches, and document findings that shape technical direction.
- Own technical decisions for organization-wide initiatives from proposal through adoption.
- Deliver high-quality code and raise engineering standards through mentorship and example.
- Build with agentic AI tools and advance Amplify and AI engineering practices.
