Principal Mobile Engineer

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of mobile engineering experience and experience shipping applications built from the ground up to production at scale.
• Deep expertise in at least one of iOS or Android and serious fluency in the other.
• Experience with native platform toolchains, lifecycle, concurrency, release processes, and cross-platform trade-offs.
• Experience building and operating a modular mobile platform or a closely comparable system.
• Ability to define module boundaries, contribution models, versioning practices, and developer experience for multiple teams.
• Experience using measured budgets for performance, stability, binary size, memory, battery, and crash-free rate.
• Strong mobile observability, production instrumentation, architecture communication, and RFC facilitation skills.

Technical Skills

• iOS experience includes Swift, Swift concurrency, UIKit, SwiftUI, the Apple toolchain, and release processes.
• Android experience includes Kotlin, coroutines, Flow, the Android lifecycle, Jetpack, Compose, Gradle, and related ecosystem tooling.
• The role requires informed opinions on Flutter, KMP, and React Native based on performance, scale, and maintenance trade-offs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating AI capabilities into mobile applications, including on-device models, conversational or agent interfaces, latency-sensitive features, privacy, and offline considerations, is a strong plus.
