The role leads hardware and software quality testing for products across development and real-world use.
The position combines test leadership, product quality analysis, automated dashboard development, and cross-functional technical authority.
Testing and quality analysis
- Lead home alpha test initiatives to identify early product issues and assess performance in real-world conditions.
- Validate laboratory test outcomes against design quality and product integration requirements.
- Analyze in-life product quality and other data streams to produce actionable insights.
- Build an automated hardware and software quality dashboard as an early quality indicator.
Specifications and lifecycle support
- Develop product-level test specifications and perform detailed product-level requirements analytics.
- Ensure accurate test specifications are aligned before Target Set milestones.
- Support design and engineering teams from concept through production and post-launch.
Test innovation and collaboration
- Apply AI/ML and advanced data analytics to improve detection reliability and test efficiency.
- Act as a technical authority within the Test and QA team.
- Collaborate with Development, Operations, Quality, and Design teams to integrate testing into the product lifecycle.
- Report test progress and software quality status to senior stakeholders.
Experience and education
- At least 7 years of product quality or software testing experience is required.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Strong understanding of electronics hardware and its interfacing with software systems is required.
- Knowledge of software in IoT products, including embedded, app, cloud, and ML systems, is required.
Technical skills
- High proficiency in Python for data manipulation and statistical analysis is required.
- Hands-on experience with Pandas and NumPy is required.
- Experience with Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly for automated visualizations is required.
- Experience with Tableau or Power BI for automated quality dashboards is required.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift are required.
Communication and execution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for presenting technical information to executives and non-technical leaders.
- The role requires multitasking across product deliverables and managing multiple schedules simultaneously.
