Role overview
Lead complex multidisciplinary structural project delivery from concept through detailed design.
Own significant structural design scopes and guide engineering teams on robust, coordinated design solutions.
The role focuses on metro structures, including subsurface and above-ground systems.
Project and technical delivery
- Lead structural design production and coordination across all design stages.
- Own key packages within large multidisciplinary projects and manage discipline interfaces.
- Deliver projects to programme, budget, quality, standards, and safety requirements.
- Lead design reviews, peer reviews, quality management, and technical governance processes.
- Produce and oversee technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Identify and mitigate technical and programme risks within the assigned scope.
People and team management
- Mentor junior engineers through technical reviews and development support.
- Contribute to team capability building and knowledge sharing.
- Assist with resource planning and coordination with GCC teams.
- Contribute to recruitment and selection activities as required.
- Provide technical feedback for performance and development discussions.
Qualifications and experience
- Extensive international structural design, analysis, and coordination experience is required.
- Strong experience with metro schemes and station design, ideally including subsurface metros, is required.
- A proven record of delivering structural designs through the full project life cycle is required.
- A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree is required.
- Chartered status with a relevant globally recognized professional institution is preferred.
Technical competencies
- Strong structural engineering fundamentals and engineering judgement are required.
- Knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant standards is required.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation, Safe by Design principles, and railway safety is required.
- Experience with multidisciplinary design coordination and discipline-specific software is required.
- Knowledge of concrete analysis and design, reinforcement design, and material specification is required.
