Assistant Project Controls

Responsibilities

• Cost Controls
• Support project budgeting, cost planning, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.
• Track actual costs, commitments, accruals, and changes against approved budgets.
• Assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts, Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Variance at Completion (VAC) assessments.
• Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, including EV, PV, AC, CPI, and SPI calculations.
• Support invoice verification, revenue tracking, and project financial reporting.
• Identify cost variances and assist project teams in implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain project cost reports, change logs, and cost control registers.
• Support project and portfolio-level financial reviews and forecasting exercises.
• Project Controls
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6 / Microsoft Project.
• Establish project baselines, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS), and project control processes.
• Track progress against approved schedules and identify schedule variances and critical path impacts.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and resource utilization.
• Support resource loading, progress measurement, and productivity analysis.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project controls reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Conduct schedule analysis and support mitigation and recovery planning.
• Support project risk management activities, including schedule risk assessments.
• Key Competencies / Skills
• Strong understanding of Project Controls and Cost Controls practices within Engineering, Energy, and Infrastructure projects.
• Sound knowledge of:
• Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Resource Planning, Cost Forecasting and Budget Management
• Critical Path Method (CPM)
