Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of 6-DOF simulation models for fixed-wing and rotary UAVs, integrating aerodynamics, propulsion, controls, and environmental effects
- Perform advanced flying qualities analysis including stability, controllability, and performance across flight regimes
- Define and oversee simulation architecture, validation frameworks, and automation pipelines
- Support aircraft sizing and design, ensuring stability and control requirements are met
- Collaborate with flight test teams to define scenarios, analyze telemetry, and refine models using real-world data
- Continuously improve models using CFD, wind tunnel, and flight data
- Own simulation deliverables, lead technical reviews, and mentor cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s/PhD preferred)
- 10+ years in flight dynamics, simulation, or flying qualities analysis (UAV/defense preferred)
- Proven experience leading simulation projects and mentoring teams
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in MATLAB / Simulink
- Experience with Python for automation and data processing
- Solid understanding of dynamic systems (actuators, propulsion, environment)
- Ability to interpret and apply CFD/wind tunnel data
