Collins Aerospace is building challenging multicore platform architecture to make aerospace products smaller, smarter, and more efficient.
Platform software provides infrastructure for hosting an operating system and application services that interface with hardware.
The Principal Engineer will develop, enhance, and maintain mission-critical embedded platform software as an independent contributor.
What you will do
- Work in a sprint team developing, enhancing, and maintaining mission-critical platform software.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with German teams.
- Build and nurture offshore teams and improve team strengths.
- Lead and motivate the team on future technologies.
- Maintain integrity and work ethics within the team.
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong system software, binary executable, debug information, and operating-system knowledge.
- Strong C and C++ skills with Linux shell scripting and Python knowledge.
- Strong RTOS experience with multicore, multithreading, and hypervisors using VxWorks on PowerPC and ARM.
