Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Establish and continually improve SHEQ frameworks and report SHEQ performance to project leadership.
• Develop risk assessments, brief project teams, and monitor project health and safety objectives.
• Provide practical advice on occupational health, safety, and wellbeing to operational leaders and project teams.
• Review performance, identify improvements, and implement action plans.
• Advise on CDM matters across design, construction, operation, and decommissioning phases.
• Analyse leading and lagging indicators and support project risk profiling.
• Provide health and safety monitoring and influence safety during design.
• Support incident investigations, identify causes, and improve risk management.
• Develop HSE briefings and help supply chains improve safety competency and culture.

Candidate specification

• Health and safety management experience is essential.
• A construction or engineering degree is essential.
• NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 4 or higher in Occupational Safety and Health, with Chartered status such as CMIOSH, is required.
• Energy-environment experience is required, with nuclear-sector experience preferred.
• Client-facing experience is essential.
