Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
Intuit’s Data, Growth, & Experiences (DGX) organization builds the core data and MarTech platform powering experiences across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp.
As a Principal Business Operations Manager, you will oversee operational strategy, financial governance, and business performance across the DGX organization. In this role, you will manage multi-vendor platform budgets—including consumption-based licensing and committed spend across partners like AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Adobe, and Twilio—ensuring predictable execution, clear investment trade-offs, and tight alignment between engineering priorities and business goals.
wn Budget Governance & Surprise Prevention
Own end-to-end budget governance for DGX across cloud, data, MarTech, and AI/ML spend, and maintain the authoritative source of truth at the project, program, and vendor level
Govern Intuit's largest platform licensing and committed-spend agreements (e.g., AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Adobe, Twilio) — committed-use discounts, consumption-based licensing, minimum commits, true-ups, overages, and renewals
Build automated tracking, dashboards, and early-warning controls — commitment burn-down, projected true-ups, under-utilized commits, renewal cliffs, variance alerts — so there are no end-of-quarter surprises
Track Cost-to-Serve and efficiency initiatives, quantify savings, and partner with engineering to optimize cloud, storage, compute, and architecture
Own Business Performance & Executive Reporting
Own the performance-management framework — KPIs, scorecards, operational reviews, and executive reporting — that makes org health visible at a glance
Own the DGX narrative end-to-end: pull together the data, build the story, and deliver executive-ready communications on how we're performing, where we're headed, and why it matters
Analyze performance to surface trends and risks, and get ahead of leadership questions with data-backed recommendations
Lead Planning, Prioritization & Platform Work Intake Governance
Drive annual and quarterly planning end-to-end — priorities, tradeoffs, investment cases — aligned to strategy and Intuit's company-wide planning cycles
Design and run the platform work intake model: how demand from product and business teams is captured, evaluated, sequenced, and committed, with clear owners, milestones, and success measures
Establish transparent governance for what the platform takes on, defers, or declines, so investment tracks strategy and the org avoids overcommitment
Design the Operating Model & Drive Transformation
Design and run the leadership operating cadence: agendas, business reviews, QBRs, planning, all-hands, offsites, and build durable, scalable operating frameworks the org can rely on year over year
Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across engineering, product, Finance, HR, and Intuit's business units, managing dependencies and removing obstacles
Champion transformation across people, process, and technology, using automation and AI-enabled workflows to improve productivity and scale
Qualifications
- 10+ years in business operations, strategy, FinOps, strategic finance, or management consulting, driving business performance and operational transformation in complex, cross-functional environments
- Direct experience governing enterprise vendor and licensing agreements — ideally hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data/MarTech platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Adobe, Twilio, Segment) — including committed spend, consumption pricing, true-ups, and renewals
- Strong financial and analytical depth: modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, budget management, and FinOps fluency (committed-use, reservations, tagging/allocation); comfortable with SQL
- Experience building operating models, performance frameworks, planning processes, and intake/demand governance — ideally for a platform or shared-services org serving many internal customers
- Builds real-time dashboards and automated reporting that turn complex data into decision-ready signals; active GenAI fluency (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or equivalent) in real workflows
- Exceptional executive communicator who synthesizes complex topics into clear narratives for senior and C-level audiences, and influences across a matrixed org without direct authority
- BS or MS in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
- Nice to have: FinOps certification or cloud cost-management tooling (Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth); prior chief-of-staff or business-operations leadership for a platform/engineering org; FP&A or corporate finance background; experience at a data platform or MarTech company at consumer scale (50M+ users).
- WHY JOIN DGX AT INTUIT DGX is building the underlying data platform that powers Intuit's product portfolio. In this role, you will shape the operating model, financial discipline, and governance framework from the ground up—directly supporting systems that impact over 100 million customers.
- Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. This position may be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits ). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
