About the Role
The FDE Practice Manager establishes and elevates McCain's Forward Deployed Engineering capability.
The role owns the Yellow-portfolio FDE talent pool and is accountable for technical excellence, business impact, career development, staffing, and practice standards.
The role uses a player-coach model, combining practice leadership with selected strategic engagements.
What You Will Do
- Establish FDE competency frameworks, role definitions, and development pathways.
- Build, coach, mentor, and develop the FDE community.
- Lead hiring, talent calibration, workforce planning, and performance management.
- Allocate FDE resources across Yellow business portfolios.
- Lead selected engagements and provide hands-on coaching.
- Align standards and outcomes with Commercial, Marketing, and Manufacturing FDE leaders.
- Collaborate with AI, engineering, deployment, enablement, knowledge engineering, and governance leaders.
- Develop playbooks, engagement models, operating standards, and reusable methodologies.
- Ensure initiatives meet responsible AI, security, governance, and risk requirements.
- Represent the practice with senior leadership and business stakeholders.
