Supporting the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and data models aligned with business requirements.
Developing and maintaining interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring high data accuracy and performance optimization.
Working with various data sources (e.g., SharePoint, SQL, Python script, ArcGIS, APIs) to transform and model data using Power Query and DAX.
Assisting in the design, development, and delivery of complex, customized reporting solutions, both independently and as part of a team.
Implementing automated data refresh processes and monitoring data pipelines to support business reporting needs.
Applying governance best practices, including data security, workspace management, version control, and deployment pipelines.
Creating and maintaining documentation such as data dictionaries, report specifications, and user guides for Power BI solutions.
REQUIRED ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
5+ years of hands-on experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and performance optimization.
Strong experience in building interactive and insightful visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts including relationships, measures, calculated columns, and star schema design.
Strong working knowledge of SQL (queries, joins, and basic optimization), along with experience in integrating data from multiple sources such as SharePoint Online, APIs, SQL and enterprise systems.
Experience working with REST APIs and integrating external data into Power BI through connectors and automated workflows. Good to have, if any exposure to ArcGIS integration.
Familiarity with Power Query (M language) for data transformation, cleansing, and shaping.
Knowledge of JSON, OData queries, and REST-based integrations for dynamic data retrieval.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and requirement translation skills, with exposure to GitHub or Azure DevOps for version control and basic ALM practices.
