The North West Regional Hospital- Intensive Care Unit are seeking dedicated and suitably experienced Critical Care Nurses to join the team and work in a Clinical Coach position.
ICU is a specialized area that requires skilled staff to care for critically unwell patients requiring organ support via ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy and haemodynamic support. The Unit has a case mix of primarily adult patients but also cares for paediatric patients requiring ICU level support. A MET and Code Blue service is also provided to the NWRH and adjoining NWPH.
The Clinical Coach is a senior clinical critical care nurse who combines clinical expertise with education and leadership skills to develop novice nurses in the critical care setting. The role focuses on clinical supervision, coaching, competency assessment, professional development, and promoting safe, evidence-based practice while working closely with the ICU Nurse Unit Manager and education team to build workforce capability and improve patient outcomes. The role will mainly entail an 'at the bedside educator and professional development lead' who helps transition novice and less experienced nurses into competent, confident clinicians while supporting service quality and workforce retention. Application of clinical knowledge, skills , problem solving and critical thinking will also be key to this role.

Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse or a Registered Midwife
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in the relevant practice setting.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area.
Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g.: Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
