  • Own platform strategy and delivery for a defined digital product portfolio
  • Drive platform reliability, scalability and security to enable faster, safer delivery outcomes
  • Full‐time and permanent position based at our new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide

As a Platform Manager, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the product strategy and roadmap for an enterprise integration platform that underpins Qantas’ digital, operational and customer‐facing experiences.

You will balance customer needs, commercial priorities and operational resilience to enable seamless journeys, real‐time decision making and trusted outcomes at scale, strengthening both customer experience and the Qantas brand.

Working closely with senior leaders, an engineering team of six, and cross‐functional partners, you will identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives and guide investment decisions across a shared platform with multiple consumers.

You will ensure products are delivered effectively across their lifecycle, from discovery through to optimisation, while managing complex trade‐offs that impact time to market, platform sustainability and customer outcomes.

This role plays a key part in advancing modern product management practices at Qantas, embedding agile ways of working, human‐centred design and a strong safety and security mindset across the organisation, ensuring integration platforms remain reliable, scalable and fit for the future.

You’ll have

  • Proven experience managing enterprise technology platforms, systems or digital products within complex environments.
  • A strong platform-as-a-product mindset, with the ability to define value propositions, establish service boundaries and create scalable, reusable capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and prioritising platform backlogs, balancing competing business priorities, technical health and operational requirements.
  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate trade-offs between delivery outcomes, platform stability, technical debt and security risk.
  • Experience establishing and governing platform standards, guardrails and extension patterns that support long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Strong knowledge of platform reliability, service performance, lifecycle management and operational excellence, including upgrades, releases and technical debt remediation.
  • Experience embedding security controls, access management and compliance requirements into platform operations and governance practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across Product, Engineering, Architecture and business teams.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers, including SLA management, performance monitoring and continuous service improvement.
  • Confidence applying AI-assisted tooling to lift delivery efficiency for yourself and your team, without compromising platform rigour or security standards.
  • Experience working with a major airline Passenger Service System (PSS) - its API surface, booking/inventory model, or integration patterns - is highly regarded but not essential.
