How you'll make an impact

As the Lead Platform Engineer, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of AMP's North Platform, one of Australia's leading wealth platforms.

You will own the platform engineering roadmap and drive the reliability, resilience, security and continuous improvement of services that support thousands of advisers and customers.

Working across development, SRE, production support, architecture, security and infrastructure teams, you'll ensure the platform remains stable, scalable and fit for the future whilst enabling the delivery of strategic business outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence technology decisions at scale.

You'll lead platform modernisation initiatives, drive automation and operational excellence, improve engineering standards, and provide technical leadership across complex enterprise environments.

Whether you're strengthening observability, reducing operational risk, leading major incident investigations or improving platform governance, your work will have a direct and measurable impact on service performance, customer outcomes and AMP's technology strategy

What you'll bring to the role

We're looking for an experienced platform engineering professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and influencing skills.

You'll bring a proven track record of owning enterprise platforms, driving engineering uplift initiatives and leading complex technology outcomes in large-scale environments.

You will be comfortable operating across cloud, infrastructure, application, database and security domains and have a strong understanding of platform reliability, operational governance, automation and resilience engineering.

Technically, you'll bring strong experience across Microsoft enterprise environments, ideally including Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server and.NET-based applications.

Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, deployment automation tools such as Octopus Deploy, and modern platform engineering approaches will be highly valued.

You'll be comfortable driving automation, improving operational controls, supporting release readiness and influencing engineering standards across complex technology ecosystems.

within Financial Services, Wealth Management or other regulated environments will be advantageous.
