Title: Plant Assistant

Department: Various

Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff

Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Responsible for the safe, controlled start-up and operation of the cast line equipment including starting the machine, engaging the feed, observing the operation, and assists changeover process.

Inspects and measures completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards.

Monitors and adjusts controls to ensure product complies with production standards.

Coaching and mentoring of assistants and helpers by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned

Maintains equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repair techniques as required.

Records quality and production metrics via written communication methods and within time deadlines, as necessary.

Performs all work in a safety-first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.
