About the Role

Responsibilities
- Plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases
- Review physician's referral and patient's condition to determine required physical therapy treatment
- Test and measure patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency
- Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data
- Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function
- Administer treatments involving physical agents using equipment such as hydrotherapy tanks, whirlpool baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines
- Evaluate effects of treatment and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
- Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or computer
- Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
- Confer with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care
Requirements
- BS Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution, plus required clinical internship for professional registration
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy
- 0 2 years of experience as a physical therapist
- Good command of oral and written English; knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable
- License for practice as per regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS / DHA)

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
- Review physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
- Test and measure patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and record findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
- Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data. Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
- Keep abreast with the latest trends and advances in the field of physical therapy and use evidence based treatment protocols.
- Administer treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment such as hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
- Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. Confer with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.
- Orient, instruct, and direct work activities of assistants and aides. Perform other position related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Skills and Abilities: Must be willing and able to work with multi cultural and physically handicapped clients. Should possess good organization skills and able to work in highly stress situations. Able to clearly communicate with patients and their families, physicians and non medical staff.
- Experience: 0 – 2 years of experience as physical therapist.
- Education: BS Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; plus the required clinical internship for professional registration. Possession of a current license to practice Physical Therapy.
- Language: Good command of oral and written English; knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.
- Licenses / Certifications: License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA).
