About the Role

Responsibilities
- Assist in daily supervision of Infection Control Program
- Maintain close communication with healthcare teams
- Assist in initiating precautions and isolation measures for transmissible diseases
- Conduct daily surveillance of patients to identify healthcare associated infections
- Collect microbiological reports and other pertinent reports
- Assist in epidemiological investigation during outbreaks
- Educate staff, students, patients, and visitors on infection control
- Monitor staff compliance with infection control practices through audits
- Identify problems and risks related to infection control
- Assist in documentation and reporting of reportable diseases
- Conduct periodic environmental assessments (cleaning, water quality, air quality)
- Assist in monitoring healthcare waste program
Requirements
- Graduate of a professional school of nursing
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin
- 3 years clinical nursing experience in an acute or teaching hospital
- Strong knowledge base in infection prevention and control
- Excellent command in oral and written English
- Command of Microsoft Office
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
- Arabic preferred

Job Purpose

- Assists in daily surveillance of patients to identify healthcare associated infections.
- Collects microbiological reports and other pertinent reports daily.
- Assists in epidemiological investigation during outbreaks.
- Assists in staff, student, patient/relatives and visitors education on infection control.
- Helps monitor staff compliance with infection control practices through audit.
- Identifies problems and risks related to infection control.
- Serves as resource person in infection related problems.
- Assists in documentation and reporting of reportable diseases.
- Conducts periodic environmental assessments (cleaning, water quality, air quality).
- Assists in monitoring healthcare waste program.
Requirements
- Graduate of a professional school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin.

- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
