Managerial Task
- Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures
- Helps lead and implement the organization's performance management system, including peer review and productivity reviews
- Assists with scheduling and ensures adequate medical coverage within the Division
- Attends Divisional meetings as required
- Assists the Division Chief in recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
- Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief
Technical Task
- Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice
- Oversees clinical activities of junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for their care
- Complies with all established hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices
- Practices appropriate utilization of organization's resources
- Leads ward round; reassesses inpatients and outpatients regularly
- Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion
- Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
- Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input
- Actively participates in multi disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care
- Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
- Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from various sources
SEHA Compliance
- Complying consistently with facility policies, procedures and practices and ensuring alignment with SEHA facilities policies
- Completing and maintaining regulatory requirements including licensure, certification and other mandatory training within established time frame
