Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed audits of employee leave balances, accruals, and transactions.
  • Review and reconcile annual leave, personal/carer's leave, long service leave, parental leave, and other leave entitlements.
  • Identify , investigate, and resolve discrepancies in leave calculations and payroll records.
  • Validate payroll system data against employment contracts, awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies.
  • Prepare audit reports, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to obtain and verify information.
  • Support remediation activities and ensure audit outcomes are accurately implemented.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails throughout the project.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work requirements, relevant legislation, and internal governance standards.

What we are looking for

Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Analyst, or Senior Payroll Officer.

Strong experience conducting payroll and leave audits in medium to large organisations.

Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and leave entitlement calculations.

Experience interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements (EAs), and employment contracts.

Strong payroll reconciliation and data analysis skills with strong Excel skills.

High attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve complex payroll issues.

Experience working with payroll and HRIS systems with ADP and Workday desirable.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage high volumes of data within project deadlines.
