How you will make contributions that matter
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our dedicated and collaborative payroll team, supporting approximately 400 weekly and fortnightly paid employees across multiple manufacturing sites.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services while supporting employees and stakeholders across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
End-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly payrolls for a predominantly wages-based workforce
Interpreting Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) and payroll legislation to ensure accurate employee payments
Managing payroll reconciliations, PAYG, superannuation and statutory reporting obligations
Reviewing payroll calculations, leave balances and payroll exceptions
Responding to payroll queries and providing a high level of customer service to employees and stakeholders
Producing payroll reports and analysing payroll data using Excel
Supporting payroll audits and compliance activities as required
Working across My Workplace (MWP), Workday, Workforce and Chris21/iChris payroll systems, with the opportunity to support the transition of employees onto a single workforce management platform
Contributing to payroll-related testing and system implementation activities
Working collaboratively with the broader payroll team to deliver successful weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll bring practical payroll experience and enjoy working in a team-focused environment where everyone contributes to the success of the payroll function.
You'll also have:
Experience processing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and/or Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs)
Experience using Chris21/iChris payroll systems, highly regarded
Experience working with payroll and time and attendance systems
Confidence reviewing payroll calculations, leave entitlements and employee records
Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to analyse payroll data and reporting
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
A collaborative approach and willingness to support team members during critical payroll periods
Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or other award-based environments will be highly regarded
