Registration Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment while collecting necessary personal and insurance information accurately.
- Verify and update patient records in real time, ensuring data integrity and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist patients in completing registration forms, providing guidance on insurance and payment options while addressing any inquiries they may have.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and timely communication of registration related information.
- Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations efficiently, optimizing patient access to healthcare services.
- Conduct pre registration for upcoming procedures, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and verified in advance.
- Respond to phone inquiries promptly, providing accurate information about hospital services, directions, and registration procedures.
- Generate and maintain reports on registration metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement in the registration process.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on hospital policies, software systems, and best practices in patient registration.
- Manage patient registration, appointment scheduling, and ensure all demographic and insurance information is up to date and accurate.
Medical Coding Roles & Responsibilities
- Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD 10 and CPT coding systems to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Review clinical documentation to ensure it supports the codes assigned, enhancing the integrity of the medical record.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous documentation and improve coding accuracy.
- Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements to minimize claim denials.
- To have a knowledge of reconciliation & resubmission of insurance documents.
- To coordinate with Insurance brokers/teams as well as Doctors for complete documentation.
- Accurately translate diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized medical codes (ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS) for billing and statistical purposes.
- Meticulously review patient medical records to ensure complete and accurate documentation supporting the assigned codes.
- Liaise with physicians and other healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
