Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Head Chef to lead both the culinary execution and technical foodservice support functions of our bakery/café operation.

This unique hybrid role combines hands-on food production with strategic oversight of ingredients, product development, and support for foodservice distribution.

The ideal candidate is both a creative culinary professional and a technically knowledgeable food expert who understands ingredients, supply chains, and customer needs across café and wholesale environments.

Culinary Leadership (Bakery & Café)

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality production of baked goods, pastries, and café menu items
  • Develop and refine recipes, seasonal menus, and product offerings
  • Maintain consistency, presentation standards, and food safety compliance
  • Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff
  • Monitor inventory, reduce waste, and optimize kitchen efficiency

Technical & Foodservice Support

  • Act as the technical expert on ingredients, formulations, and product applications
  • Support B2B clients and distribution partners with product usage, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams on ingredient selection and quality control
  • Assist in developing new foodservice products and scalable recipes for distribution
  • Provide training, demonstrations, and guidance to clients or internal teams on product applications

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, procurement, and sales teams to align culinary output with business goals
  • Support product launches, pilot programs, and customer onboarding
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or similar leadership role in a bakery, café, or food production environment
  • Strong knowledge of baking, pastry, and café-style cuisine
  • Experience with foodservice distribution, ingredient systems, or B2B culinary support is highly preferred
  • Deep understanding of ingredients, food science basics, and recipe scaling
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on kitchen work with strategic and technical responsibilities
