Overview

  • We are hiring a Partnership Manager to work on a project for a leading regional bank in Doha, Qatar.
  • This role sits inside the bank's loyalty and cards function, focusing on growing the merchant ecosystem behind a card portfolio.
  • It is a commercial, relationship driven role for someone who has built and run merchant partnerships in cards, payments, or fintech.

The work itself

  • Winning and onboarding merchants across retail, dining, travel, e commerce, and lifestyle.
  • Being the main point of contact for partners, running regular business reviews and deepening relationships.
  • Designing and negotiating merchant funded offers, cashback structures, and loyalty rewards.
  • Tracking competitor loyalty programmes and emerging merchant categories across Qatar and the region.
  • Measuring partnership and offer performance against targets and turning that into recommendations.
  • Working closely with product, marketing, digital, CRM, risk, and compliance teams.

What you need to have

  • 5 to 8 years in partnership management, merchant acquisition, or loyalty programme management within banking, cards and payments, or fintech.
  • Proven track record sourcing, negotiating, and managing commercial merchant partnerships end to end.
  • Strong commercial and analytical judgement.
  • Professional English fluency.
  • Available immediately or on a short notice period.
  • Working understanding of interchange economics, card scheme rules, and merchant funded offers (preferred).
  • Hands on experience with loyalty programme models (preferred).
  • Experience with CRM platforms like Salesforce or HubSpot (preferred).
  • Familiarity with loyalty management and campaign/offer publishing platforms (preferred).
  • Comfort with analytics and reporting tools like advanced Excel, Tableau, Power BI (preferred).
  • Arabic language ability (preferred).
  • Relevant degree; MBA or loyalty marketing certification is a plus.

  • Genuinely commercial, comfortable in negotiation, able to structure deals that work for both sides.
  • Understands cards and loyalty world well enough to know why interchange, scheme rules, and offer mechanics matter.
  • Able to juggle many partners and competing priorities without letting relationships go cold.

What success looks like

  • Steady flow of new merchant partners brought on and activated.
  • Cardholders actively engaging with and redeeming offers.
  • Measurable lift in card spend traceable to merchant driven offers.
  • Partners renewing at end of terms rather than churning.
  • Shrinking gap between signing a partner and getting their offer live.
