About the Department
Will assist the teacher in carrying out the educational, recreational, and social programs planned for children.
Attend lectures, conferences, and other educational programs as directed to support professional development and growth as an aide.
Remains attentive to each child's needs and helps promote their health and welfare.
Maintains the classroom in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
Rotates to assigned centers as needed.
Assists with classroom responsibilities in the absence of the teacher and the teacher aide.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Preferably some college education (child development / early childhood courses / or experience working with preschool children).
Be bilingual and have experience working with preschool-age children.
Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines for the position annually.

Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required.
This position is not covered by Civil Service; therefore, it is subject to all the Webb County Policies and the Webb County Head Start addendum.
