Part-Time Paraprofessional Teaching Assistant
Frelinghuysen Township School is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional Teaching Assistant to support
classroom instruction and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment for students. The ideal
candidate is patient, collaborative, and committed to student growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher
- Assist with small‑group or one‑on‑one instruction
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional needs
- Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other activities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom materials, accommodations, and behavior‑support strategies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or 60+ college credits preferred)
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
- Strong Ability to follow teacher and administrative guidance
- Patience, empathy, and a student‑centered mindset
