Part-Time Instructor - CE/Workforce Development - Central Sterile Processing (CSP)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and provide Central Sterile Processing instruction necessary for students to gain required knowledge and skills in preparation of the state examination. Develop/approve class schedule(s) under the direction of the Coordinator of Workforce Development and department staff as requested. Provide effective instruction to students in the classroom and/or online by preparing lesson plans, lectures, course overviews and course syllabi. Select appropriate learning material for assigned classes. Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines. Facilitate class and clinical portions of instruction. Ability to communicate effectively with adult learners. Use effective evaluation methods to measure student performance. Maintain up to date knowledge within the teaching field, to include learning management system applications used in class delivery. Assist in marketing and recruitment of students. Participate in departmental and divisional orientation and training sessions. Develop and maintain partnerships with outside agencies to facilitate positive clinical training experiences.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate Degree in a health-related field from a nationally accredited institution preferred. Current certification as a Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPTDT) issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) and/or current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist required. Demonstrated ongoing continuing education in the field of Central Sterile Processing required.
