Role Overview
Support the Category Head in managing the product lifecycle for a specific over-the-counter category.
Contribute to category sales, profitability, and inventory targets through product, supplier, pricing, promotional, and store fulfilment activities.
Category and Product Lifecycle
- Support category strategy using sales trends, competitor activity, and customer insights.
- Assist with product selection, listing, and delisting based on sales performance and market trends.
- Monitor product performance and suggest expansion, seeding, and liquidation strategies.
Supplier Coordination
- Assist with supplier negotiations and contract execution by preparing analyses and supplier proposals.
- Support joint business planning with suppliers to optimize rebates, discounts, and promotional investments.
- Ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations for pricing, availability, and stock replenishment.
Pricing and Promotions
- Conduct market research to support pricing and promotional strategies.
- Coordinate promotion calendars, advertising plans, and in-store activations with Marketing.
- Track promotional effectiveness and report findings to the Category Head for optimization.
Fulfilment and Inventory
- Support inventory forecasting and demand planning to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Work with supply chain teams on order placement, replenishment, and distribution models.
- Ensure planogram compliance and agreed category layouts in stores.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Support Finance with cost analysis, margin optimization, and budgeting tasks.
- Liaise with Operations to resolve store-level availability and placement issues.
- Monitor sales, profit margin, and inventory turnover KPIs and prepare reports and dashboards.
- Recommend improvements using data analysis and competitor benchmarking.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in retail, FMCG, or category management roles.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and analytics tools.
- English and Arabic language proficiency.
Work Environment
- The role is primarily indoors, with 90% indoor work and 10% outdoor work.
- The schedule is five working days with two days off, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a one-hour break.
