Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries
- Treat conditions affecting bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and the spine
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non surgical approaches
- Manage acute and chronic orthopedic conditions, including fractures, arthritis, sports injuries, and degenerative disorders
- Provide pre operative and post operative patient care when applicable
- Conduct comprehensive orthopedic consultations and follow up appointments
- Perform minor orthopedic procedures and injections as clinically indicated
- Order and interpret diagnostic investigations, including X rays, MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, and laboratory tests
- Collaborate with radiologists, physiotherapists, pain specialists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with DOH and facility standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, MBBCh, or equivalent)
- Completion of recognized residency training in Orthopedic Surgery
- Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license or eligibility as Specialist or Consultant Orthopedics
- Board certification or equivalent qualification (Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, UK CCT, FRCS, Facharzt, or equivalent)
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in orthopedic medicine
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient management skills
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities Orthopedic Assessment & Treatment
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.

Key Responsibilities Outpatient Orthopedic Care
- Conduct comprehensive orthopedic consultations and follow up appointments.
- Assess patients presenting with joint pain, back pain, sports injuries, trauma, and mobility limitations.
- Perform minor orthopedic procedures and injections as clinically indicated.
- Coordinate rehabilitation plans and monitor patient recovery progress.
- Educate patients on injury prevention, treatment options, and recovery expectations.
Key Responsibilities Diagnostic & Clinical Management
- Order and interpret diagnostic investigations, including X rays, MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, and laboratory tests.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physiotherapists, pain specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with DOH and facility standards.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities General Duties
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Attend CME activities and maintain professional competencies.
- Support the development of best practices and evidence based orthopedic care pathways.
Qualifications Required
- Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, MBBCh, or equivalent).
- Completion of recognized residency training in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license or eligibility as Specialist or Consultant Orthopedics.
- Board certification or equivalent qualification (Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, UK CCT, FRCS, Facharzt, or equivalent).
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in orthopedic medicine.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient management skills.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in one or more orthopedic subspecialties, including: Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement & Reconstruction, Spine Surgery, Trauma & Fracture Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics, Hand & Upper Limb Surgery, Foot & Ankle Surgery.
- Experience in a hospital or multi specialty medical center.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Expertise in ultrasound guided musculoskeletal injections is an advantage.
