Optometrist (Arabic)

Overview

Primary Job Responsibilities: -

• -Optometrists with prior experience in optical shops will be given preference.
• Perform Visual Function tests with a high level of quality and expertise and coordinate with all the members of the Optometry department and other staff including physicians.
• Assist patients with scheduled or referred visits by ophthalmologists in preoperative, post-operative or medical check-ups.
• Review the CH, perform the anamnesis (according to the template) and explain the test/s to be performed.
• Check the patient's glasses and measure visual acuity with them, if necessary.
• Perform the tests requested by the ophthalmologist or predetermined by the procedure or pathology (Refraction, auto refractometer, frontofocometer, skyascopy, Amsler test, color test, topography, OCT, aberrometry, biometry, campimetry, pachymetry, endothelial cell count, osmolometry, Schirmer test, estesiometry, echography BAT, contrast sensitivity, retinography, angiography, ERG, tonometry synoptophore, strabismus and phoria measurement, stereopsis test, suppression tests, ocular motility tests, contactology tests).
• Analyze and determine the tests and exams to be performed depending on the pathology and age of the patient, as well as those that are required by the ophthalmologist.
• Performing the Teller test in cases in which another optometrist has not been able to determine objectively and quantitatively the VA in the patients (eg in infants, patients with psychomotor problems).
• Orthoptics: Perform the patient, at the request of the ophthalmologist, visual therapy, carrying out convergence / fusion or divergence/fusion exercises, in order to strengthen the ocular musculature.
• Orthoptics: Transfer the results of the tests and the evolution of the exercises to the ophthalmologist for further evaluation.
• To comply with Barraquer Eye Hospital OHS Roles & Responsibilities, applicable DHCA OHSMS standards, applicable legal requirements, and any other applicable OHS requirements.
• Perform all related duties as assigned by HOD/Reporting Manager.
