Job Purpose

  • Responsible for safely and efficiently handling explosives and detonating devices during wireline logging operations.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities Job Specific

  • Safely handle, transport, and store explosives and detonating devices according to established safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare explosive charges and detonating systems for deployment in wellbore operations, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Execute the deployment and detonation of explosive charges in accordance with operational plans and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the logging services team to coordinate activities and ensure seamless integration of explosive operations with overall logging operations.
  • Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.

Generic Accountabilities

  • Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures.
  • Provide on the job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.
  • Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
  • Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
  • Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies.
  • Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job.
  • Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports.
  • Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in explosives handling or a related field, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Certification or training in explosives handling and safety (e.g., Explosives Handler Certification) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with wireline logging operations and equipment is an advantage.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments, including outdoor and offshore.
