About the opportunity
L3Harris is hiring an Operations Manager for its Brighton Release Systems and Antennas business.
The Brighton facility designs, manufactures, and tests carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary-wing, and unmanned aircraft platforms.
The Brighton business is expected to move in 2027 to a site in Shoreham, Burgess Hill, or Horsham within a 15-minute drive of the current site.
What the role will involve
- Lead Manufacturing Engineering, Production Planning and Control, Supply Chain, Quality Control, Machine Shop, Assembly, Paveway IV, Test, Stores, and Dispatch operations.
- Ensure personnel follow health and safety, environmental, and quality procedures and support audits and reviews.
- Coordinate New Product Introduction readiness reviews, capacity planning, risk identification, and cross-functional alignment.
- Own delivery, cost, quality, stability, and continuous improvement across current product lines.
- Set production goals and targets based on proven industry best practice.
- Represent the business in customer meetings and external site tours.
- Run monthly Operations management meetings and drive resolution of critical issues.
- Manage Operations overhead costs and oversee strategic supplier development.
- Plan operations and ensure corrective actions are implemented when required.
