Role Overview
Environmental Services provides housekeeping and related support to maintain clean and safe hospital and satellite environments for patients, visitors, and staff.
The Operations Leader provides leadership, expertise, and support to supervised staff while ensuring work is efficient, safe, timely, and compliant with policies and procedures.
The department supports inpatient, outpatient, operating-room, common-area, and grounds cleaning, as well as waste management, moves, transport, deliveries, and setups.
Operations Management
- Monitor daily operations, respond to requests, investigate service gaps and customer concerns, and coordinate follow-up across shifts.
- Conduct daily rounds, monitor assignments and workloads, maintain duty lists, and ensure staff have required equipment, products, and supplies.
- Coordinate special cleaning for infection-control concerns, review patient satisfaction feedback, and participate in operational meetings and committees.
- Ensure safe handling of waste, equipment, products, and supplies; report repairs and periodic cleaning needs and follow up to completion.
- Conduct quality assurance audits, coordinate corrective actions, respond to emergency codes, and implement infection-control and outbreak procedures.
