The employer is hiring a senior operating theatre nurse.
The role involves orthopedic, plastic surgery, gynecological, and general surgery cases.
Location and Work Arrangement
- The position is based in Dubai.
- Work location is in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating theatre, instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
- Receive and assess patients and verify the correct patient, procedure, and surgical site.
- Work as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse according to department requirements.
- Maintain aseptic and sterile techniques throughout surgery.
- Perform instrument, sponge, needle, and equipment counts.
- Prepare and position patients safely while protecting privacy and preventing pressure injuries.
- Monitor patients and report abnormalities promptly.
- Assist with surgical safety checklists and documentation.
- Maintain infection-control and sterilization standards.
- Handle, label, and dispose of specimens properly.
- Check surgical equipment and report malfunctions.
- Maintain theatre stock and provide safe patient transfer and handover.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hold a DHA license and have six to seven years of experience in the UAE.
- Have at least five years of operating theatre nurse experience.
- Hold current BLS certification; ACLS may be preferred.
- Have strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments, infection prevention, and patient safety.
- Have good communication and teamwork skills.
- Be able to work shifts in a high-pressure surgical environment.
