Operating Engineer, Class 3

Education Grade 12 Secondary School Graduation Diploma. Qualification as a Third Class Operating Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence.

Experience Experience operating and monitoring boilers, HVAC systems, utility systems, or industrial plant equipment. Experience working within a regulated industrial environment with a strong focus on safety and operational reliability. Experience maintaining operational logs, system records, and equipment performance data.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including Ontario Regulation 219/01 - Operating Engineers. Demonstrated commitment to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Knowledge of high-pressure steam boilers and associated control systems. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multi-trade teams and stakeholders across a variety of disciplines. Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office applications and computer-based systems to update procedures, maintain records, and communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to identify abnormal operating conditions and take appropriate corrective actions to maintain system performance and safety.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
