About the Role
A construction company in Saudi Arabia seeks an OHTL Engineer to supervise overhead transmission line activities for HV/EHV substation projects. The role requires 5-8 years of experience in OHTL construction, tower erection, and stringing.

Responsibilities
- Supervise all overhead transmission line site activities related to HV/EHV substation and transmission projects.
- Support construction and installation of overhead transmission lines including tower foundation works, tower erection, conductor stringing, sagging, clamping, spacer installation, earthing, and OPGW/communication cable installation.
- Review engineering drawings, route profiles, tower spotting schedules, plan and profile drawings, foundation drawings, stringing charts, sag tension calculations, method statements, inspection and test plans, and work procedures.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor OHTL construction activities in line with project standards, approved procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and utility requirements.
- Ensure proper execution of tower foundation preparation, excavation, reinforcement, concreting, backfilling, tower assembly, erection, alignment, and final inspection.
- Conduct site inspections and support QA/QC teams during material inspection, installation checks, tower inspections, conductor stringing inspections, and final handover activities.
- Support testing and commissioning activities related to OHTL systems including continuity checks, earthing resistance testing, phase identification, visual inspection, and pre energization checks.
- Prepare daily progress reports, site updates, inspection reports, as built drawings, redline markups, and required technical documentation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, utility representatives, and subcontractors to resolve technical and site related issues.
- Support testing and commissioning teams during pre commissioning, energization, and handover stages.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and utility requirements including SEC, IEC, IEEE, BS, and applicable Saudi regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 8 years of experience in OHTL construction, tower erection, stringing, sagging, conductor installation, earthing, testing, and site coordination for HV/EHV substation and power infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and utility requirements including SEC, IEC, IEEE, BS, and applicable Saudi regulations.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, route profiles, tower spotting schedules, and method statements.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with design, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, subcontractors, and client representatives.
