Nursing Math Tutor

About the Department

Peer Tutors: $15.00/ hour Non-Student/Professional Tutors: $20.00/hour The Nursing Math Tutor provides one-on-one or small-group sessions to students working to complete the math requirements in the Nursing Program.

The Tutor will help students understand the math component and improve their performance by clarifying concepts, solving problems, and addressing specific learning challenges while fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.

Tutoring students in Nursing Math Maintaining detailed records of each meeting Assisting Students as they prepare to take the “dosage test.”

Strong academic background in the subject area Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles Patience and enthusiasm for helping students succeed Experience with tutoring or teaching preferred Peer Tutors Current MCC student in good academic standing Non-Student/Professional Tutor Associate degree required Must have the math skills to teach dosage calculations
