Role Overview

Teaching and Learning

• Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with EYFS or an equivalent curriculum.
• Support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through play-based learning.
• Observe, assess, and document children’s progress in learning portfolios.
• Adapt teaching methods for individual needs, including children with SEN requirements.
• Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence.

Childcare and Safety

• Keep the classroom safe, clean, and organized.
• Follow safeguarding, health, and safety protocols and report concerns immediately.
• Check equipment, learning materials, and classroom hygiene daily.
• Provide feeding assistance, toileting support, emotional comfort, and other attentive care.

Communication and Parents

• Build positive professional relationships with parents and communicate children’s development and daily experiences.
• Participate in parent meetings, school events, and open days.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to maintain consistency across classrooms.

Teamwork and Development

• Work with teaching assistants and colleagues to create a cohesive learning environment.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
• Contribute ideas to curriculum planning, classroom management, and nursery standards.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, CACHE Level 3, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• At least two years of Early Years or nursery experience.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS or a similar Early Years curriculum.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• First Aid and Safeguarding certification is desirable.
• Multicultural or international setting experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or similar approaches is desirable.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Work Arrangement

• The role is performed in person.

• Pay is stated as a monthly amount.
