Role Overview
Nursery Operations Manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of a busy service environment.
The role coordinates people, capacity, schedules, systems, administration, facilities, and service standards across the organization.
Daily Operations
- Manage operations across classrooms, reception, administration, facilities, and support functions.
- Manage staff schedules, attendance, leave, coverage, deployment, and staff-to-child ratios.
- Monitor enrollment, classroom capacity, availability, waiting lists, and resource utilization.
- Oversee schedule changes, absences, cancellations, and operational disruptions.
- Coordinate facilities, supplies, equipment, and resources needed for daily operations.
Administration and Service
- Manage registrations, records, documentation, invoicing, payments, and outstanding balances.
- Act as the escalation point for parent concerns and service issues.
- Monitor staff performance, accountability, procedural adherence, and completion of responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate operational information, records, schedules, and trackers.
- Identify process inefficiencies, recurring problems, and service bottlenecks and implement solutions.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with policies, licensing requirements, health and safety standards, safeguarding requirements, and internal procedures.
- Track capacity, utilization, attendance, staffing, cancellations, complaints, outstanding payments, and other operational indicators.
- Work with senior management to implement operational priorities, policies, and improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience managing daily operations in a busy service-based organization.
- Proven people-management and team-coordination experience.
- Strong scheduling, capacity-planning, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working with systems, operational data, KPIs, and financial administration.
- Highly organized, proactive, accountable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in a nursery, education, healthcare, therapy, clinic, or similar service environment is preferred.
